"I always believed it would work.even when all the banks told me it wouldn't but finally we found the one that believed in our idea and in us and what can I say, it's been ten years." says Brian Long, a.k.a. Gib, owner of Gib's Bagels in Fort Collins.

Eleven years ago Gib traveled from the East Coast in hopes of catching the best air while snowboarding the mountains of Colorado.

A friend urged him to start of business of his own and when he realized there were no bagel shops anywhere to be found he started that day.

His first thought was to open in the mountains but slowly he was directed to Fort Collins and that's when he got this idea of opening a bagel shop in Fort Collins that served the authentic New York bagel. When each bank said no Gib continued to believe that there is always a way from point A to point B you just need to dig a little deeper.

The first Gib's location opened on August 25, 1994 and within the past ten years two more locations opened as well as a wholesale business was created that delivers product throughout Colorado and into Wyoming.
